This is one of our best private excursions near Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Take a day trip to visit the largest monastery in Ethiopia – Debre Libanos Monastery. It is from the 13th Century AD. At Debre Libanos Monastery, visit the modern church founded during Emperor Haile Selassie I. This church is decorated with pretty religious paintings and window glass works. You will also visit the museum of Debre Libanos Monastery. In the museum, see old historical and religious artifacts.

Take in the beautiful viste of the Jemma River Gorge. Emerging from Lake Tana, the Blue Nile River is fed with the Jemma River.
The other place to visit this excursion from Addis Ababa includes is the Portuguese Bridge.  Debre Libanos is an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo monastery, lying northwest of Addis Ababa in the North Shewa Zone of the Oromia Region.

See the Gelada Baboon, one of Ethiopia's indigenous mammals, during this day tour. They are known as "the Bleeding-Heart Baboon" for its red patch on its chest.

The local people are very friendly and we will have to visit the village house where we share the tradition and culture with a welcoming community. Have lunch, test coffee, wine, experience daily life.

Day 1;

Early in the morning start driving to visit Blue Nile Gorge and Debre Libanos Monastery then continue driving to Bak to addis  for overnight.
